Cozmo is Calm

I had to post this picture because most people see Cozmo's crazy side and not his usually calm-self. Lately, Jasper has been treating Cozmo like a pillow and it seems to work for both of them!

Happy Father's Day #2

Here are a couple more photos from Father's Day. Jman wore his "my dad rocks" shirt so I had to get a picture of that. Also, I wanted to post one of his classic "serious" faces when we were on the boat. Enjoy!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

We had a great time out at the Wilsons for Father's Day! We spent the night on Saturday and went up to visit Nate Westre ("Uncle Nate") at the street dance for good egg days in Stuart. Adam and gramps woke up about 4:30 a.m. and set off on their fishing excursion with uncle john, dave, ken, jeff sherman, chuck, pat, cliff, and John D. They got home around noon and we had lunch, and then....Jasper P. and Syd got a ride on gramps boat! They were a little leery at first because adam was driving instead of their grandpa, but after a few "hiccups," we were on our way boating on Conservation Lake. We also took some time for the kids to fish.

It was a great Father's Day with some AWESOME dads! We also took Cozmo with us. And as I type this, Coz is too tired to get up and lay on the couch that he literally is crashed on the floor in front of the couch and Jasper P. is WRECKED!

Happy Father's Day, everyone!!

Happy Early Father's Day

I picked Jasper up from Issa's daycare on Friday and he had made Adam a couple of gifts for Father's Day. We are heading to Stuart tonight so Adam can wake up early to go fishing with gramps, so we decided to celebrate Father's Day early. We treated Dad to a steak dinner at the Big Steer in Altoona, ice cream, and then he got to open his cool new coffee mug that Jman painted on for him, a picture frame, and a new hammock to replace our old one that broke a couple years ago when mommy and Jman were sitting in it! i'm sure we'll post more fishing pictures after our trip to Stuart! but until then....happy Father's day, Daddy, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! this picture is from this morning while daddy was drinking coffee out of his new mug...and Jasper was drinking milk out of his bob the builder water bottle!

OH, and a funny story, Jman kept saying "happy mother's day, daddy." He had the right thought, but just got a little confused!

Happy Birthday Quinn!

We just got back from Quinn McMurray's 3rd birthday party! We met some new friends, Ava and Natalie, and Jman and the girls played great together in Quinn's pool and her BRAND NEW sandbox that she just got for her birthday. We had ice cream, cake, hot dogs/hamburgers, opened presents, and as I'm typing this post, Jman is O-U-T! It was so funny to see him playing with all the girls - they would dump water on him and chase him around and he really didn't seem to mind - I think he's going to be quite the ladies man! :)

Thanks, Quinn, for letting us celebrate with you! Yesterday was Quinn's last day at Issa's Daycare for the summer as her mom, Casey, is a guidance counselor and is off for the summer. We will certainly miss her and her sister, Delaney, this summer but we'll be sure to have playdates so they can see each other.

Pals!

Payton and Erin Gibson came to Iowa a couple weeks ago and we are so glad they had time to stop at the Wilson house for a BBQ with us and the McMurrays. Jasper was very excited to show all three girls his swingset, sandbox, and ALL of his toys! i should have taken a picture of his toy room when they were all done - it seriously looked like a tornado swept right through it, it was funny! The picture with the chair halfway turned over gives you a glimpse of what it looked like, but it was worth it!

Bondurant Summerfest 02

As I said in the first Bondurant Summerfest post, this is Jasper's third Summerfest. He experienced his first parade when he was just about 3 months old in 2008, when Nat piled candy on top of him after fighting a couple for some Tootsie Rolls.

Last year he sort of understood but didn't give it that much thought.

This year he was very excited for the police men, fire trucks, tractors and ... candy!!!

We let him take a few steps out into the street to gather up the treats and he stashed them in his stroller. I stole a Starburst and Nat and J shared a couple of Tootsie Rolls but she was disappointed that we weren't able to round up any Dots.

Bondurant Summerfest 01

This summer marks Jasper's third — yes, third! — Bondurant Summerfest celebration. Nat, J and I attended the parade, ate dinner and even went for a ride on Monday night, June 14. It was J's first carnival ride that I know of, and he got to ride in the fire engine as it went round and round.

Now, most kids were smiling, laughing and playing around. Not J. He had a job to do. And he was serious about it. That job: drive the heck out of that fire engine while laying on the 'horn' and controlling one (and sometimes two) steering wheels.

As you can see by the last photo, he wasn't all that trilled with the Carney who stopped the ride, but he didn't throw a fit or anything, so he must've been satisfied.

(Pardon the duplicated photos but I can't seem to get them to delete. Sorry.)
Good times.

Cousins

Jasper and cousin Sydney Wilder had a good time Sunday, June 13 playing together in our backyard. Now that Jasper's a little older he really likes to follow Syd around and do what she does, even if it gets him in trouble occasionally.

Nothing Like a Garage Sale Bargain!

i met up with Melissa Wilder, Gina Sherman, and Gina's sister, Mandy, and we ventured off to the White Pole Road garage sales. I usually make a stop at one particular house in Stuart, where the family has maybe a total of 10 boys in the family, so I stocked up on clothes there and made out with some other pretty cool bargains including a shopping cart with food, tools, baseball glove, and a chair - all for Jman, of course. One MAJOR steal was this cute pair of batman jammies for 10 cents - gotta love garage sales!

Random Sayings

This is just a random post. Jman is now 2 years and almost 3 months and has been talking up a storm lately, so I wanted to write down some of my favorite sayings:

han-der-burg (hamburger) ... edited by Adam.

Mommy, I wanna stwetch out (wanting to stretch out his legs when waking up)

Mommy and Daddy: "Jasper, you're silly!" Jasper: "No, I'm boy!"

miss-issa (Aunt Melissa)

Jasper went up and randomly hugged Adam while saying: "i wuv you two, Daddy"

Jasper's gramps teases him about his sippie cup. Gramps will say, "give me my baby bottle" and Jasper says "no, it's a tup (cup), gramps!"

"I do it!"

Happy Birthday Ethan!

We celebrated Ethan Meyer's first birthday this past weekend! Adam had to work at the Copper Creek Triathalon so Grandma Vicki decided to come party with us instead. We went to Peony Park, had hot dogs and Jasper's favorite - CAKE! Ethan's mom, Melissa, made a cool basketball cake and a special mini baseball cake for Ethan, she's so talented! All the guests got to take home a cute blow-up baseball, soccerball, or football and a cool water bottle that also was sports themed.

Jasper chose the soccer ball water bottle and football blow-up toy to take home with him. He also laughed the entire time Ethan was digging into his cake, not sure why it was so funny, but he sure thought it was! We also got to spend time with cousins, Cody and Dee, who are also friends with the Meyers!

it was a great party and even more fun knowing that Ethan and Jasper will grow up to be good friends just like their mommies! Oh, and we can't forget Ethan's sister, Isabelle, she will also be included in on the boys activities, I'm sure. One of the pictures is melissa's grandma manders with her grandkids, Jackson and Ryne.

Swingin'

A quick snapshot of Jasper swinging like a big boy. At home, since his big boy swing is only about a foot off the ground, he likes to fall backward and land in the grass. laughing the entire time. Since the swing and grandma Debbie and grandpa Wilson's is more like 3 feet off the ground, with hard dirt underneath, we had to have a talk about hanging on tight. He did a great job!

Remembering them all

We all stopped by grandpa Bob Wilson's grave in Stuart on Memorial Day and snapped a quick photo. We also visited other family graves including grandpa Paul Diddy's. On the day before, we stopped at grandpa Rick's (Natalie's dad) in Waukee. It was a beautiful day - a perfect time for us to remember those who've passed.
