Easter at Gram and Gramp's

We had a great meal and a great Easter egg hunt at Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Paul's house Saturday evening, but ask the kids and they'll tell you the highlight was riding 4-wheelers.

Jasper, Sydney, Kyren and I (Adam) rode all over the place. It's always a good time.

Jasper still falls behind a little bit in the 4-wheeler since his is the slowest, but he's getting pretty darn good on that thing and it won't be long before he graduates to the next level up. Syd and Kyren are pretty darn good drivers, too.

Before we hunted eggs we had to dye them, of course. That's always a great time!

It was also wonderful to have Jasper's great-grandmothers Doris and Rita there, too.

Happy Easter!

Waukee Easter egg hunt

We headed west to hit the Waukee Easter egg hunt Saturday morning. It was cold and windy but the weather didn't dampen anyone's spirits, especially all the kids lined up to gather candy and see the Easter bunny.

Jasper got a bucketful of candy and scoured the ground until the last few bits were picked up.

Then we headed over to say hi to the Easter bunny with cousin Dom.

Can't Believe He's 3 - Part 2

More photos that Adam took of Jman turning 3! As I write this blog, he is doing his favorite civil duty by putting out fires and I wanted to also write down his favorite saying at the time: "Fire - oh, no! Emergency!" That is usually the phrase heard around our house these days!

Can't Believe He's 3 - Part 1

Adam took some 3-year photos of Jasper. Can't believe he is 3! The time has just flown by and we couldn't be more excited for all the new things to come as he gets older! A couple of Jasperisms that I wanted to write down: barage=garage, bjusting=disgusting, pigerator=(somehow)refrigerator. Those are just a few words that sound absolutely nothing like what he is trying to say, but almost 90% of his other words are definitely very clear, especially when he is trying to make a point about something! He is very independent, loves putting out fires and making trains with pillows and anything else on the couch, helps fix things like daddy, and right now his love is for the movies - Fireman Sam and Monsters, Inc.

Hippity-Hoppity!

Jasper and I took a trip out to Valley West Mall today to see the Easter Bunny. We started the trip by waiting our turn to see the "big guy." Jasper gave him thumbs up and hugged him pretty tight. The Easter Bunny didn't talk and Jasper wondered why. He told him that he liked his bow tie and asked why he wasn't saying anything. I gently scooted him along since the Easter Bunny wasn't changing his non-talking ways anytime soon and simply explained that the Easter Bunny was like a real bunny and real bunnies don't talk either. That seemed to be an ok explanation.

We then ventured over for a train ride, stopped at the playplace and had to make one more trip to see the Easter Bunny before we officially left the mall.

Happy Easter!

Spike!

Jasper has really enjoyed bathtime lately. He got some new bath markers and tablets that turn the water different colors. OH, and bath paints. This is just us having some fun when his hair was getting pretty long and made quite the spike!

Hanging with the Q Man

We headed over to Melissa, Ben, and Quinton Hall's house to hang out a few weekends ago. They just bought a new house in Waukee and we got to see Qman's cool new bedroom and toy room. Qman and Jasper both will be big brothers this July and already they are only 3 months apart - so they have alot in common - and had so much fun when they played. They made homemade pizza, played trains, chased their dog, Winnie :), and rode around on some ride-on toys. These two are definitely best buds! And more pictures to come after June 4, when we are taking both boys to a siblings class at Mercy - can't wait!
