J and cousin Syd

Saturday, Sept. 20 was a busy day for Jasper, who woke up at grandma Vicki's after spending the night in Waukee. He then saw cousin Sydney play two soccer games — she was great! — before going to grandpa Paul and grandma Debbie's house to have lunch with them, aunt Melissa and Syd.

We played with Bosco and Margot's puppies and hung out in the red pedal car (pictured) before heading home.

I like to swing!

We took advantage of the good weather Labor Day weekend to hook up the hand-me-down swing from cousin Sydney.

J loved it and the Coz liked to watch, although he quickly lost interest as he's become quite the mole hunter (we've killed three this summer!!) and patrols the yard looking for those little digging buggers. Coz 'The Killer' also recently got a snake, we believe, because I didn't mow it and it looks like he may have had his head bit off. (We do our best to keep the Coz from licking J in the face.)

Anyway, we've been back out a few times to swing more, but the cool weather has kept us from being out there too much. Hopefully we're not done with the warm weather yet this year.

Nice hat, by the way, on the little man in these photos. (Jasper: it's your mom's fault.)

Just because it makes us laugh, I've got to post the quick Photoshop job I did in honor of Iowa-Iowa State football week.

Scratch face!

You think this wound is bad, you should see the other guy!!!

Just kidding ...

Jasper woke up tonight from a nap after dinner and promptly scratched his face. It was a bad one, with blood and everything. (I made his mother take a photo.)

HAPPY 100TH POST!!!!!

We hit a milestone with tonight's post - it's our 100th - and it took just about six months to do it.

From J swaddled during his first days to him sitting up like a big boy, we've tried to cover it all, proven by 1,000-plus photos taken before his 6-month birthday (Sept. 24).

These photos were taken tonight at Azteca in Pleasant Hill, where J got to suck on a piece of lemon — he liked it! — while we were eating.
