Day 19: Family photo!

Here's the first photo of all of us together at our house, on our Fourth of July trek over to the construction site with Grandpa Paul and Grandma Debbie.

Day 20: Garage

The garage was partially framed when I stopped by the site today, and framing continued on the main level.

Day 18 (afternoon): Framing

I returned to the scene this afternoon to find the framing crew in full gear. (They must've appreciated the Gatorade I delivered on my visit this morning!)

Day 18 (morning): Floor joists, more

Lots of work was done this morning when I swung by the lot around 8:15 - many floor joists were in place!

Day 17: Framing begins

Materials showed up over the weekend and workers hit the ground running on Monday with the first steps of the framing process. Here they're bolting the 2x6 sill plate to the top of the foundation walls.

Day 16: We've got wood!

We took a quick drive over to Bondurant on Sunday after buying our refrigerator from Factory Direct Appliance. We got very excited as we drove up and noticed the materials on site for them to start framing, etc., this week. Amazing that that stuff is going to be our house!

Day 13: Connected!

Workers on Thursday connected our house plumbing to
Adams Street.
